Workforce Policy
Workforce Policy develops policies and supports the implementation of a system to effectively and efficiently prepare Arizona workers for an ever-changing economy. Workforce Policy provides staff support to the Governor’s Council on Workforce Policy (State Council). The State Council is responsible for advising the Governor on issues related to the duties and responsibilities required by the federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998. Governor’s Council on Workforce Policy All members of the State Council are appointed by the Governor and represent the many facets of workforce development – business, labor, public education, higher education, economic development, youth activities, employment and training, as well as the Legislature. The State Council meets quarterly and the public is encouraged to attend the meetings. A “Call to the Public” is an agenda item at each Council meeting. Decisions are reached through a collaborative process.
